I'm assuming that the pan is so cheap because All-Clad now has a 5-ply line and they're clearing out their 3-ply stock. I have not ever used All-Clad before, and the only All-Clad I've felt in stores is the 5-ply, so this does feel lighter than that - but I can't attest to if it feels lighter than other 3-ply pans. The Cuisinart Multiclad Pro 12 inch skillet I've been wanting seems to no longer exist. 2. America's test kitchen recommended this pan highly. Pros: 1. The size is great. I feel that it really holds my food well without crowding it. 2. The shape is great and allows for easy flipping and such. 3. It heats evenly. 4. Food now sticks to it and it is no longer easy to clean. I never wash nonstick pans in the dishwasher and try to avoid high heat with them, although I am sure there were a few burnt pancake and blackened toasted sandwiches (mea culpa). This pan is thick enough to heat evenly and not warp. Probably the worst mechanical wear my pan has had is storing one pan atop another. ...more
